Are we treating order, chaos, and balance too much like ideologies?

Be it political or otherwise idealogies are everywhere. Ideologies are just that. Idea ologies. Are ideals just prefered conceptual structures? What dictates preference? Well if I want to rule the people I prefer ideals that suit my position. I prefer ideals that give me what I want. I prefer ideals that the people can believe in and so believe in me. Then I get what I want. I help my friends get what they want. Do I care what the people want? Maybe but chances are I only care that the people believe and keep on believing. I can use the media to give my concepts meaning. I can shape the meaning for the people. I can persuade. It is my job. My friend can persuade the people that there is chaos. I can represent order. Together we can keep the balance of power in our favour.
