How strict should one be with child?

there are more ridiculously bad behaved children today then ever. I don't want my child to ever act like that. He is a very well behaved child. We are very consistent with him. It seems like when we start being more lenient with him, because he is very well behaved, he takes that leniency and misbehaves. By misbehaves I mean he throws huge temper tantrums when he is told he isn't allowed to touch something he knows he has never been allowed to touch, or when its time to come inside from playing outside. He is almost 2 years old, we do spank him if he is doing something dangerous such as touching outlets or walking into the road. Otherwise we use a time out chair. He goes in the time out chair for one half hour. this seems like a long time, but the time out chair is comfortable and the time is enough that he usually is told to sit in his time out chair once a day or every other day. every time he comes out of the chair we ask him to explain why he was punished and to say sorry. This has always worked, except recently he has began saying that mommy (me) touched what he wasn't allowed to touch, or mommy didnt listen. I tell him he is the one who did it, and he repeatedly blames it on me. does anyone have any suggestions on how to parent a child, where they have respect and listen? What is too strict?

Do you think the Bible contains the whole of God's message to people?

I am curious if you think that it is possible that God said everything that needed said to humankind in the books of the Bible or do you think that he might still be "speaking" to people in this day and age? Men physically wrote the Bible so it is hard to believe that they didn't put it into the context of the knowledge/customs of the people at that time period. My understanding is that some books of the Bible were rewritten, excluded, and probably modified to some extent at some point in history, or am I wrong about that? So the real question is do you think that God would stop speaking to us because I would think that God would want us to understand the message rather than hang on the exact words that ultimately were the work of a flawed human understanding of the message. Why aren't there prophets anymore? Does anyone else think that it possible that as humans have advanced in science and our understanding of the universe that God's message to us right now might differ from the message that was delivered to man all those years ago. I don't mean that the core message has changed but our understanding of exact details might shift. An example is "be fruitful and multiply" which would make sence in ancient times where the world didn't have 6 billion people. What to do if boyfriend ignores you after an argument?

My boyfriend and I got into an argument before we left college for the summer. We both talked about things that we need to work on about ourselves. Why do Americans love Guns so much?

Actually our murder rate is low compared to a lot of countries with restrictive weapons laws....Brazil, South Africa and Mexico come to mind. Plus, our murders with firearms tend to be associated mostly with the drug trade and 'warfare' between criminal gangs. 'Murders' also tend to restricted to certain parts of certain cities, and young men associated with gangs and the dope trade kill and are killed far more than young women associated with those same gangs. Young black men tend to kill each other more often white men, and Latinos tend to kill each other with firearms less often than asians per capita. Oddly, black men do not commit suicide with a firearm as often as white men and women in general rarely use a firearm to commit suicide. I bring this up because here in the US some states have very restrictive firearms laws and others very lax laws. The difference in firearm offenses tend to be about the same state to state so the argument that the 'firearm itself' is the problem doesn't jibe with the objective reality of the situation. Given that in states like Arizona where firearms are practically unrestricted and any adult without a criminal record can legally buy one, if the firearm itself led to murder it would follow that there would be no difference between men and women, rich and poor, black, white, latino and native Americans when it came to murder with a firearm....yet there are huge differences that can't be explained by legal ownership of a firearm. As far as 'self defense' with a firearm there are several thousand reports that an intended victim, when he or she exhibited a firearm the attacker abated his attack even though no shot were fired. While this issue gets kicked around by people a lot and everyone has their own take on the issue the reality of it is that possession of firearms by law abiding citizens pose no particular danger to the public at large...just stay out gang territory and out of the dope trade and chances are you'll never actually see a firearm or hear a shot fired.

Ok, I have this invention i am trying to build. It is a motionless generator, no moving parts made up of a crystal( created by me). This crystal is the responsible for power storage and movement. Everybody seems to know how to articulate their political stance...I think there should be FEW laws and greater penalties if you do break the few laws that are there (less leniency). I believe that the government should steer clear of making laws and put more emphasis on personal freedom. There is always the possibility that the arresting officer will not show up. That happens frequently. Or he may have made some procedural error which will get it thrown out. My male coworkers are treated more leniently and given more opportunities - should I say something?

I work in a very male-dominated field, which I have learn to accept to a certain degree in my years of working. However, the situation in my office has become particularly challenging to deal with, and I don't know if I can go much longer with just keeping quiet and going along day-to-day as if it isn't happening. My female coworkers feel the same way I do. We are all well-educated, hard-working and intelligent - just as much so as our male colleagues (and honestly more so in many cases). However, there's a 'buddy' system going on with the guys in the office. Our boss is 'buddies' with the guys so they get away with whatever - coming in consistently late, even sometimes two hours late, without having to answer for it or even being scolded about it. One of our male coworkers misbehaved last week and flipped another colleague (who is superior to him) off. Yet nothing was done about it. If the females in the office would ever dare to be late or misbehave in this manor, we would be penalized or even lose our jobs. Furthermore, I know for a fact that I have been given less opportunities than a guy on my same level, even though I work much harder and he slacks off all the time. Even guys beneath me are given more encouragement and opportunities to advance - and are treated with a lot of leniency as well, not expected to do as much work, etc. A female coworker that recently had a baby was provided with no paid maternity leave - yet they paid one of my male colleagues salary when he was gone for two months travelling. Its just so upsetting, but I don't know how to deal with it. Should I try to talk to my boss or should I just try to find another job?

As far as It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia goes, with profanity sprinkled all over the dialogue, it seems weird to me to leave out the f-word. They got to leave it on their Christmas special since it wasn't aired on television and it wasn't strange to hear them say it. A question about my invention?

Ok, vaguely. I thought came up with an invention that I want to sell. However. It requires the use of a wireless receiver/transmitter WITH a speaker built into the receiver. Am I being discriminated against?

I enrolled in a medical billing/coding course at a local technical school early this year. I have a small but visible tattoo on my neck, and was never informed prior to starting classes that I would have to cover it up. Due to a medical condition, I am unable to place a band aid on my neck. After being told I would have to cover it somehow, I requested leniency with their policy until my financial aid disbursement check came, which would enable me to purchase blouses/collared shirts to cover up my neck. The school has refused to accommodate, even when I explain to them that I have a medical condition. I explained that I am a single mother and could not afford to purchase any clothing to cover my neck until I received my financial aid, and since I knew nothing of this policy until classes had started, I was unable to make arrangements or possibly choose to get an education elsewhere. 10th group is pretty big, so it depends upon how you're trying to get in. If you're trying to be an SF guy in one of the line units, french isn't going to be a make or break to your entry; it'll help during the assessment of your packet, but little more. Could LI DAR pick-up an incorrect speed if used through traffic passing in front of them?

I was given a citation for speeding in my personal vehicle, for 15 miles over the speed limit. I have a CDL and the highway patrol officer used this device through tightly packed traffic in front of him, and supposedly caught me coming under a bridge towards him. I was going 8 miles over the speed limit, but how do I approach the judge about my company will fire me if I have a speeding ticket for going 10 miles over the limit? Chevy 6.5L diesel overheated and wont start.?

hey i have a 1996 chevy dually with a 6.5L diesel. my great driver of a mother overheated it and just kept driving it home from out of town. then shut it off, and now it does not start. it cranks but doesnt start. to my relief i checked oil and theres no water in it so i think the head gasket is fine. i dont know much about diesel engines, so if anyone has any guesses to what it may be, please let me know. i appreciate the time and knowledge. thanks.

Shedding on a flat-coated cockapoo?

I recently got a 12-week old flat-coated cockapoo from a cockapoo breeder (from whom I also got my other very low-shed curly cockapoo who is now 11-months old ). I understand breeders cannot guarantee their puppies' coats and temperaments. I also understand that a flat-coated cockapoo must have taken more traits from the shedding cocker spaniel side rather than the non-shed poodle side. But my new flat-coated cockapoo is shedding like crazy. A groomer told me (and the vet confirmed) that the dog might just be nervous or anxious because I just got her a week ago. Can anyone share with me their expert knowledge on why a dog in general (regardless of the breed) might be shedding? Do most shedding breeds shed more in the summer months? I plan to ask the vet for more possible causes of this shedding when we go back for the puppy's next scheduled vaccination shots. For now, I am using the Furminator daily on her to reduce the shedding and it does somehow help but the shedding continues anyhow. Any other 'treatments' you can recommend for my new pup? She is a very beautiful, sweet, gentle yet spunky, easily trainable little pup and I hate to just give her up simply on the basis of her coat-shedding. I do not 'judge' nor 'reject' people based on their physical characteristics and I do not want to do that to this puppy.

Ok, I have this invention i am trying to build. It is a motionless generator, no moving parts made up of a crystal( created by me). This crystal is the responsible for power storage and movement. I'm failing a class at college. It's a math class. While I'm doing relatively well in my other two classes there and my three at the high school, that class is really hurting me. I've failed pretty much every test so far. I've done the homework and everything but when it comes to test time, I freak out. I do not experience this with any other class.. probably since math is my worst subject and the course grade is made up of five tests. I'm under a lot of stress and I'm really ashamed of myself. Withdrawal date is up; is there any hope for me even if I don't pass this class? I mean, it's not like I skip every class and party. I'm in the middle of my semester for algebra. A little after two weeks in my husband and I went through a separation. After he got back from serving in Iraq he developed some addictions as a coping mechanism for the PTSD. He refused to admit he had a problem so I had to leave in order to stop acting as an enabler and give him an eye opener that he needed help. It worked and he's in a treatment program and I moved back in. When dealing with the emotions he became suicidal and so I had to make sure he got the help he needed. With all this I missed a couple weeks of class. All of my instructors have been willing to work with me except one, and when I tried talking to him to explain what was going on and ask how I could get caught up he completely dismissed me and then told me my life should not interfere with school work because he didn't let his personal life do it. I explained that I tried not to let it but it was a lot to deal with and sometimes you don't have control over everything. I wasn't asking for him to dismiss the past due work and let me make it up. I was trying to tell him I was going to do the online activities even though they weren't graded to make sure I comprehended the information, but I did want some leniency on the absences. He didn't even let me finish. He was really unprofessional. He told me that I shouldn't be pursuing my education right now, and I explained that I couldn't afford not to. It was too late to withdraw, and then I'd have to pay the student loans back to the school before I could go back. He said it's not his problem. I don't know what my rights are as a student, because it really doesn't cover this in the student handbook. Does anybody have any idea's?

I know that Albert Einstein was a great physicist, but to look at it so where a lot of others. I cannot begin to name the number of scientists who have made major discoveries and eye-opening inventions and even received noble prizes for them, yet they were over-shadowed. However Einstein's greatest achievement was perhaps the theory of relativity. I know this was a very very important discovery but so were others not in physics( for ex genetics). And frankly i find that works in Physics are more credited than works in Biology or Chemistry ( DNA was a major break through and perhaps Crick was the only guy in that subject to be recognized by many). But coming back to the question I think Einstein's fame escalated mainly due to his participation in the nuclear fall out in Japan in World War 2. If it weren't for that Einstein would perhaps be a broke scientist like all of the others and his work buried with him. What do you think?

Right, im 25 and have been unemployed since august 2010. I have a son of 6 months and a partner. Last November, my old roommate schemed with her best friend to kick me out so he could move in. They fabricated stories about me which spooked my parents into forcing me to give up my lease to her friend (my mother was co-signer on the lease). I signed an agreement for my name to be removed and his taken over. I was released of all payment from then on and was entitled to my security deposit ($500) back. He agreed to pay me the $500 but asked for leniency since he had no job. He is now well off and still won't pay the money. His story has now changed to my money is with the apartment and I won't get it back until their lease is up, therefore my money is still with the apartment. Type 1 Diabetes doesn't have anything to do with family history, so that shouldn't be a concern. When I got diagnosed with it, my symptoms developed over a somewhat long period of time. Just to be on the safe side, if you know somebody who has a meter, I would test my blood sugar. If the level is moderately high (140-199) I would monitor closely but not be too concerned. If it's 200 or higher, definitely go see a doctor.

Is a rat right for me?

I have read up on rats and though about getting one. I know they are a higher management rodents and need a lot of attention but I'm the type of person that loves coming home from school and taking out your pet the rest of the day. If I did happen to get one I would go for 2 males, so they have company, and males since I read that they are cuddlier and I don't mind there smell. Family issues.. Need advice on older selfish/inconsiderate/immature sibling?

Hey everyone, I'm Seth. I'll give you some background information first, I'm currently 22 and have about a year left in college so I still live at home with my mother since it is cheaper commuting to school rather than taking out hefty loans or putting it on my parents. My sister is 27 and she just got out of a 3-4 year relationship two or three months ago so she has moved back home. Now to go a little further back first, my sister has always been very inconsiderate of others in the house, she was the type of teenager that thought she was entitled to everything and would often take my (and other family member's) personal belongings without asking and I'd never see them again or they'd come back messed up, not to mention some things that were lost were irreplaceable. The worst part about it is also that if you ask her about it, she will lie and deny it to her grave and get mad that you would accuse her or she'd try to sneak it back and act like you had no idea what you were talking about (She's pretty manipulative and deceptive). Also, since she was my moms only daughter she was given a lot of leniency and got away with a lot when she was growing up so another thing she would do is bring her boyfriends home and eventually get my mom into caving into letting them stay with her. Worst thing about it is that when my mom would tell her to take them home or that there not allowed to sleep over she would just sneak them in continuously. Now that she moved back in the house she has been going out and drinking/partying every night until like 3-4 AM and coming in drunk and waking up everyone in the house. Now here's the situation, my mom went out of the country for around week on business a couple of days ago and the day she left my sister brought her new rebound/boyfriend or whatever he is over (which I didn't have a problem with) but then the weekend was over and she still didn't take him home. So I tried saying something to her that I don't want some guy she's known for a month staying over the house like that (plus she has left him here alone while she went to work) and that I want my personal space (with no guests in the house 24/7) and reminded her that she's not the only person that lives here but she said something to the line of mind your own business but with a lot more vulgarity so I won't get into detail. So I called my mom and told her of the situation, since I knew from previous experience there's no reasoning with my sister, and she called my sister and told her that this was not acceptable at all and that he was not to stay over here. So of coarse my sister had to start a big fight over it reverting back to childhood and showing how immature she is by calling me a tattletale among other things and insulting me and telling my mom that she's moving out and is never going to see her again. So I thought it was solved yesterday and she would take him home, so I went to bed at around 2 AM after studying for my exam and to my surprise when I woke up at 8 this morning he had stayed over the night again and she left him here while she was at work again (He doesn't drive, DUI, or have a "real" job). I called my mom and told her about it and she told my sister again to take him home but I'm fairly confident that I will probably have to deal with this again before my mom returns. I personally think she did this in spite to irritate me further. So basically I need some advice on how to handle this since nothing seems to get through to her and she just throws a fit and says everyone else is wrong when she doesn't get her way. What should I do? I'm already planning on moving out next semester near my school since I can't deal with the pressure from school and her continuous drama anymore, so that is already solved. Sorry it was so long, I'm just beyond frustrated and don't know what to do.

Which Business major should I choose, Management or Human Resources?

I am going to major in business administration at Community College and then I am going to transfer to a senior university to finish my bachelor's degree. They have a few different options but I do not know which one to go into. I am not sure exactly what kind of career that I want but I know that I would probably be happier in the business field than anything else. They offer these majors in the business field: accounting,acquisition and contract management,enterprise systems management(ESM)human resource management,logistics and supply chain management,mangement,management of technology. I was looking at either Management or Human Resources but I do not know which one. I have looked at salaries but I can't find out which one of these would get me the highest paying job. I want to know which classes that I should take in my first two years of school so that I am ready. The associate's degree looks like it will be pretty easy compared to the bachelor level degree but I want to make sure that I can get through the bachelor degree program. If anyone has any experience or knowledge concerning this then please let me know something. From what I have seen when I search salary information, having a bachelor's degree in business should get me a job making at least $30,000 a year but I want to make as much as I can. I am not worried about a master's degree right now but I am focused on getting the bachelor's.

This woman got pulled over before me then the cop waved me down to pull over also. He got me on radar going 90 in a 65 on I-79 N. This was in PA btw. ive always wanted to join the army, specifically to be a green beret. I get really side tracked too, my best advice is go to college and try new things, do some soul searching and decide what you really want to accomplish in your life (not things that you might kind of want to be or do but things that are really important to you) and try it out. Try to decided on something and if you get bored just stick to it, you might just need a challenge.

I'm gay and I am still very much a Christian. I used to hate myself, and think "why am I gay? Why can't I change?" Then finally I got fed up with trying to change myself and fail, so I said "God, you made me gay, so where ever my life leads me I'll follow you. Whether you decide to make me straight, or keep me gay I'll still follow you." the moment I did this I felt sooo much better and I knew that everything was right and this was what god wanted from me all along, and I just started to cry and listen to worship music and thank god for everything. This was last November and I've been even closer to god still, I worship him every night and he is continually reveling wisdom to me. I know that god loves everyone, he doesn't make rules so that we are prisoners, he makes them to protect us and so we can obey him and prove that we're good listeners and that we love him back. But we can't be perfect, so he sent Jesus to provide leniency so that we can live for him and try to better ourselves as much as possible. Rules are made with different reasons, but the reason for rules is so we can be closer to god, so when a rule gets in the way of our relationship with god all we have to do is ask for the leniency that was already given. John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life." Hi, i've been using paypal for receiving funds for my software business but am not very much experienced with it.. I have recently become a part of a fraud where one person bought a software from me and after a month of my supplying the code, filed a chargeback saying unauthorized access... Now paypal have deducted the amount from my account and as its a software matter and i had only mails as the proof they gave the result in favour of the buyer within a couple of hours.... What skills do I need to have and how much money to start? I took economics last semester and got an A although that was an entry level class and it was pretty easy.
